How is the U.S. Post office doing financially?

The USPS is the only institution in the US that has to prefund retirees from the day they are hired.

This prefunding snafu is going through congress to try to repeal the unfair act. The USPS is doing fine. We have overpaid 75 billion dollars, but of course the government doesn’t want to allow us that money.

We are still required to pay a yearly amount toward the fund. We are also trying to stop that, as it creates more overage.

Without this prefunding requirement, the po will be just fine.

The USPS needs to able to raise the price of stamps and shipping as deemed necessary. We get zero tax dollars to run the operation. Totally rely on sale of products.
